Abstract

The simple theoretical model is developed to calculate effective index and field distribution of the fundamental TM0-mode in gap plasmon waveguide formed by two cylindrical surfaces made of gold, doped Si, and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) materials. It is shown that doped Si and PVDF are promising materials for strongly confined THz-wave propagation in gap plasmon waveguide. Though mode confinement in metal waveguide is lower, it is preferable for low-loss undistorted propagation of the broadband THz-pulses.
